LOCAL RIDER NEWS
The Bowers and the Corbellis went to Tampa to race the Gator National. The Bowers tried to cook the gator for dinner being the Cajuns that they are. Brian made his main Saturday on 20". Cody made his main Sunday, and Trisha Bower crashed. If you have noticed her walking around kinda funny, it's cause she bruised her tailbone. That's all I'm sayin' ask her for more details! Racing in south Florida is tough. It is quite an accomplishment to make you main at a national in south Florida. Those guys race two or three times a week. Just look at the national points standing and checkout how many Florida riders are listed.
Well we made it back from McDonough. The track was great. Super smooth and very rideable. You could jump stuff or ride it like us old guys do. Sunday morning was a mess! The track was not covered it rained and was C-O-L-D and it was a mess. We left and did not race Sunday. We left too soon, everyone said it dried out nicely. Brent Ordway, Brennan O'Donnell, Cody Corbelli, Chelsea Corbelli, Wellington Cannon, Chase Young, Mason Young and me (Bill Young) raced. Brent, Brennan, Cody and Mason made their main on Saturday. Chase made his semi in his first national as an expert. On Sunday, Wellington made his main on 20", Cody and Brennan made their main. Turn out was light. 110-120 motos on Saturday, and a few less on Sunday. Several no shows on Sunday because of the weather and track.
Chase Young is riding a new FreeAgent Factory Limo, provided by Dothan Cycle and Fitness. Check it out. He loves it. Says it feels as good as his HH, and manuals great. Rumor has it that Wellington will soon be racing a blue HH Racing frame.
Craig Godskalk was sporting new Fly gear at the race March 22. Fly is providing Craig with a Jersey and other stuff. Congrats Craig. We are signing up new riders. There are lots of 6 and 7 year olds racing. It's great to see them out there. We need more girls racing. Chelsea Corbelli needs some female competition!
There is alot going on right now. We are pretty much in the middle of the National race season. Chase and me and Wellington raced at Morristown this past weekend. The rider count was way down. 153 motos on Saturday and 143 on Sunday. The track was super smooth. It had a smooth rhythm section. The first turn was tight with a lot of pinching going on there. I made my main on Saturday as did Chase. Chase got 1st on Sunday. Chase will be moving up to expert this week. Robert Rainey from B'ham really turned it up this weekend. He got 4th in the 16 and over open on Sunday, he was pretty awesome. The next National is in McDonough GA the end of this month. Rumor has it that the track will be rebuilt before the national to take the big double out. The Louisiana National has been moved to Nashville. I understand it is a BIG FAST track.
I heard that Josh Witmer has moved up to Novice. Way to step it up Josh. We have alot of new riders at our track. And our older riders are moving up into Novice.

Chase, Mason and me were selected for the bmxBASEMENT.com/FIZZ'Z Bikeshop team. It's pretty cool. We raced as a team at our national on Saturday, and got 4th. Thanks go out to Rich Hetzel at bmxBASEMENT.com for selecting us.
